I am happy to be your 4th grade teacher this school year! Let me introduce myself . . .
This will be my 23rd year teaching. Time flies! I began my teaching career in the Deer Valley Unified School District in 1990 at Desert Winds Elementary teaching fifth grade my first two years. In 1992 I came to Desert Sage and have been teaching fourth grade ever since. Fourth grade was my most memorable year as a student, and I always knew it was the grade I wanted to teach.
I earned my B.S. in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University in 1989 and completed my Masters degree in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University in 1993. Recently, I finished the requirements for a Reading Endorsement through Ottawa University and completed the state required English Language Learner courses.
My husband Sam and I have been married for twenty-one years. Sam is an educator and baseball coach in the Scottsdale Unified School District. We have a daughter who is in college. Our son is a sophomore in high school.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, hiking, watching baseball games, walking my dog Goochii, shopping for bargains and spending time with my family and friends.
I look forward to getting to know you this year!
